Oil Search reported that on March 10, the Al Meashar-1 well on Block 7, Yemen was at a depth of 3,574 meters and drilling ahead in basement. Progress for the week was 184 meters.
During the week, high levels of gas were observed in this section. A total of 427 meters of basement with shows has now been drilled. The forward plan is to drill to approximately 3,650 meters and then commence a logging and testing program.
Al Meashar-1 is targeting fractured basement rock in a structure defined by a 3D survey acquired in 2008.
