The Shtokman project is only postponed a few months and the final investment decision will be made in March 2011, Murmansk Oblast Governor Dmitry Dmitriyenko said after a meeting with the French project partner Total.
After a meeting with General Director of Total’s office in Russia Pierre Nergararian, Governor Dmitriyenko told the press that the Shtokman project has not been postponed three years, "as the rumors told", but only a few months, GTRK Murman reports.
The final investment decision will be made in March 2011 and construction of the plant will start in the end of 2011, Dmitriyenko said.
The plan is to start production of gas from the Shtokman field in 2016, the same year as Murmansk celebrates its 100th anniversary.
