Sakhneftegaz Engineering, a unit of Australia’s WorleyParsons, has won further engineering and early procurement work worth up to $400 million on the topsides for the Arkutun-Dagi gravity base to be installed off Russia’s Sakhalin Island.
WorleyParsons said in a statement the 49% held Russian subsidiary had been handed the work by US supermajor ExxonMobil, the operator of the Sakhalin 1 project. It said work orders included in the contract included about $200 million for services and $200 for procurement.
The production platform is being built by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in South Korea. The unit is one of the largest floatover-installation structures in the world.
Project management for the entire Arkutun-Dagi venture is being handled through WorleyParsons’ Houston office under a separate contract with ExxonMobil.
