Following Electrabel, Essent and Danish energy company DONG Energy, Dutch EBN joined Energy Delta Institute (EDI) as associated partner. With this step, the position of the Netherlands as central knowledge country in the field of natural gas, again gets a further stimulation. On 18 December 2008 both parties signed the contract.
Mr Jan Dirk Bokhoven (Chairman of the Board of EBN) states that with the cooperation with EDI, EBN would like to contribute to the reinforcement of the position of the Netherlands as natural gas country: "Apart from the Dutch gas reserves and an effective infrastructure, the existing knowledge in our country is another strength of the Netherlands . EDI helps bundling and further developing this knowledge".
To EDI the cooperation with EBN as key figure in
the Dutch gas building is very important. EDI's president George Verberg considers the contribution of a partner with specific knowledge on the Dutch upstream sector as a further strengthening of EDI as knowledge centre.
