Start of Executive Master programmes

In the last three weeks, two of EDI’s executive master programmes have started. It was the launch of the first edition of the Executive Master of Finance and Control for the Energy Industry (EMFC-EI). PricewaterhouseCoopers Netherlands (PwC), the University of Groningen and Energy Delta Institute have joint forces to develop and execute the programme that started January 26th after a period of intense cooperation.

The EMFC-EI has the ambition to become the leading international, post-academic programme for financial professionals in the energy industry. It provides them with a comprehensive grounding in the knowledge, skills and techniques, primarily focusing on the upstream segment, but also dealing with topics such as energy trading and reserves accounting. The international focus of the programme is expressed by working together with and to lecture at various international universities such as Houston, Groningen (the Netherlands), Moscow and –in the future- the Far East. Participants come from Shell/NAM, Gazprom, VNIIGAZ, PWC, GasTerra and Sonangol.

This February 2nd saw the start of the fourth edition of the Executive Master of Petroleum Business Engineering (MPBE). The MPBE has proven to be a first class master programme for E&P professionals. A dedicated group of high potential upstream engineers, from Pertamina, Baker Hughes Inteq, Cirrus Energy, Staatsolie Suriname and StatoilHydro have finished the first module and have made a start with their individual thesis.

The last two weeks the participants studied at the Technical University of Delft following courses concerning: Risk analysing, geopolitics, implementation of new technologies and personal & leadership skills. The MPBE participants are professionals with different backgrounds and various specialities, thus making a interactive and energetic whole. Both participants and lecturers are looking forward to the second sessions starting the 6th of April in Paris .

EDI wishes all participants success in their programmes and we are looking forward to the graduation ceremonies.
