Last Tuesday 1 November 2011, Energy Delta Institute (EDI) invited CEO’s and top managers from the international energy industry to her annual conference ‘Energy Transition & Reality’ in the Schiecentrale, Rotterdam. It was an inspiring conference, where experts in the field of energy transition discussed about the challenges they are face in the transition to a more sustainable economy. The theme of this years conference was ‘Energy Transition & Reality, long term goals in a short term world’. The conference offered a platform for discussion and an opportunity for energy decision makers to meet an interact.

All speakers and discussion partners were leading experts and authorities of energy transition. Speakers included Adjiedj Bakas, trend watcher, Wim Thomas, Chief Energy Advisor Shell International and Gertjan Lankhorst, CEO GasTerra. The conference was hosted by writer, columnist and speaker Charles Groenhuijsen. Amongst others, the conference was visited by CEO’s and top managers from N.V. Nederlandse Gasunie, GasTerra, Shell, TAQA, Gate Terminal, Essent, Eneco, VEMW, Siemens Nederland and many others.
