EDI’s Knowledge Centre department provides a knowledge hub (Energy Knowledge site) facilitating the link between the dispersed energy knowledge and the industry. The Knowledge Centre maintains the content of EDI’s energy courses, seminars and in-house trainings and closely follows the developments in the energy sector. Furthermore, the Knowledge Centre continuously analyses the most important issues of today’s energy industry, with a focus on gas, and communicates the relevant results of fundamental and applied research to its partners and beyond. Many of the Knowledge Centre's publications can be found in leading magazines in the associated sector(s) of energy. In addition, several other services are offered.
Energy Knowledge Services
Every three months EDI's Knowledge Centre issues the EDI Quarterly, a publication aiming to stirr the discussions on issues of importance to the energy industry. The Quarterly provides its readers with an overview of the latest developments regarding particular energy topics, important research results, recent books and publications relevant to the energy sector, as well as upcoming conferences and other events.
Another service provided by the Knowledge Centre is the ‘Latest Energy News’ and 'Energy Transition News'. By a pooling and selection process of the most important news sources in the world, and the energy industry in particular, EDI Knowledge Centre presents the most interesting news articles on energy and the energy transition in a web portal and stores them into a growing archive.
Furthermore, the ‘Upcoming Conferences and Seminars’ list offers insight into which important energy conventions are forthcoming and are recommended by the Knowledge Centre.
EDI's Knowledge Centre, in cooperation with the International Gas Union, also provides the world with an Interactive World Gas Map, encompassing key statistics on natural gas reserves, consumption, production, major gas fields, storage capacity etc. per country. This map and the associated country profiles are updated every year in accordance with the data adjustment introduced by the most renowned sources of statistical information for the energy sector. The best thing is, it's freely available!
One of the project of EDI Knowledge Centre is EDIaal, partially made possible by a subsidy granted by The Northern Netherlands Provinces (SNN), together with the European Fund for Regional Development and the Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Netherlands. It is devoted to developing training programs and other tools for sharing knowledge on the role of natural gas in a sustainable energy future.
Our commitment
By combining the knowledge and expertise of senior specialists with the enthusiasm and drive of our young team of energy analysts, the EDI Knowledge Centre aims to keep its partners, and any other parties intrested, well informed and up to date with the latest developments in the energy world. Your challenge, our commitment!
