Country gas profiles
In cooperation with renowned energy bodies like the IEA, the IGU, GIE and others, EDI has constructed the first 55 Country Gas Profiles. These profiles provide extensive and comprehensive information regarding a country’s natural gas industry. Included in the profiles are key statistics on the countries’ gas reserves, production and consumption, and more detailed data on imports and exports. Also in detail, the Country Gas Profiles contain information on the countries’ gas infrastructure (pipelines, LNG, and storage), the regulation system in place and the main actors active on the market. In addition, new topics like energy policy will be developed in the future by EDI.
The concept
The country gas profiles are easy to use and are meant to provide a collection of information to a casual user who wishes to better acquaint himself with the gas sector in a specific country. Furthermore, proficient users will also be entertained by in depth knowledge on different files of the gas industry and the possibility to conduct cross country comparisons between the gas businesses in various regions of the world.
Besides the readily available information on the gas sectors in different countries, the Country Gas Profiles have a dynamic character which gives knowledgeable third parties the possibility to edit and enrich the data with additional information. This ensures the continuous growth and improvement of the profiles with specific information regarding local issues. After the data has been sent to EDI, our specialized staff members will verify the sources and validity of the information before adding the information to the profiles.
The invitation
EDI has constructed 55 country gas profiles so far, which it will continue to extend and develop further and EDI is also planning to add additional country profiles in the near future. In the spirit of sharing the energy of knowledge, EDI would like to invite specialists from the gas industry to contribute to the country profiles by editing the existing data and/or adding new information specific to their area of expertise.
Disclaimer
Due to, among other reasons, the use of various sources, the many different ways of measurement and technical varieties (e.g. high calorific gas vs. low calorific gas), data displayed in the country gas profiles may vary. For verification, always check the original source. Energy Delta Institute is not responsible for any consequences following from the use of these data by third parties.
