A selection of our in-house programmes

Energy Value Chain
A valuable programme for those who want to get an overview of the energy value chain

The energy value chain training has proven to be very successful for companies who strive for a better connection between their primary business processes and their employees. Depending on the time available for this training, participants will get a grasp of the entire energy value chain, from generation, trade and transmission to distribution, metering and sales. The training puts the chain into context, against the past, present and possible future scenarios and its institutional environment. This training programme is very suitable for everyone who is relatively new to the business. Also, if you have been working in the industry for a while but want to learn more about other parts of the value chain and the interaction with your expertise, this programme is highly recommended.

‘This training is an absolute must for everyone who wants to obtain more insight in the energy sector in a short period of time.’
Theo Fens, key lecturer energy value chain,
UC Partners/Senior Research Fellow TU Delft

New Media Energy Business Course
A powerful new learning approach using new media

In a growing web of information, finding the right information can be a challenge. During this highly interactive Energy Business Course, the participant learns to understand the energy business and will be able to keep track of latest developments by using new media. Also, participants will be able to formulate their own opinion by selecting information and present their own information via new media channels.
This training is very suitable for those who want to skill themselves in staying up to date on latest industry developments by using new media.

Gas & Sustainability
Sharing knowledge for a sustainable future

Recent developments within the gas industry are set to change the landscape of our future energy supply. We need more, but we want it smarter and cleaner. Renewable energy sources, such as energy from biomass, wind, hydro power, and solar energy, are expected to form the foundation of a future low carbon energy system. Generating energy from these sources will result in less greenhouse gas emissions and less dependency on fossil fuels. However, there are some severe challenges with the large-scale deployment of renewables in the energy system. It is believed that natural gas will play an important role to fight these challenges and to guarantee a safe and successful deployment of renewables. During this training, participants will learn about the impact of these challenges. EDI offers you a wide range of topics using expert speakers and latest materials on for example Green Gas, CCS, Smart Grids, Public Acceptance and Regulation.

Talent Development Programme
A brand new concept combining personal development and organizational awareness with sector knowledge

In this programme, in which we work closely together with your organization, we will focus on learning in three different dimensions. First of all, we will focus on the participant – who am I and where do I want to go in my career? Second, the organization and its dynamics and goals are being analyzed and third, the participant will get a better understanding of the dynamics and developments of the energy sector. The programme is especially designed for the middle segment of your company. By investing in both skills and knowledge of this – often very large group of employees – this training has proven to contribute to retaining personnel.

‘As programme manager of the Essent Talent Development Programme, I have been working closely with EDI since 2010. I ‘have experienced working with EDI as very positive. Their inspiring lecturers really know how to stimulate talent.’
