On Friday the 30th of October, EDI is proud to announce that Erwin Loonen and Ruben Bliek are the winners of the EDI Hip de Vries Award. The graduated students showed exceptional expertise in their final thesis about future investment options for Friesland Campina, Leeuwarden. According to the professional experts relevant strategic, financial, organisational and market focussed aspects of the production investments were perfectly analysed. The theory was correctly and critically applied towards the situation of Friesland Campina. A perfect technical and theoretical implementation of this research report, and thoughtful recommendations for implementation, were motivators to assign the price to Erwin Loonen and Ruben Bliek.
The other nominees, Jos Mulder and Rik Winters, also showed excellent skills in the their research report called ‘Gateway to Lean Manufacturing’. The report had a great focus on ‘Lean Management’ and the principles of ‘5S methodology’, but a clear implementation towards the organisational structure of Cape Gate Fence & Wire Works Ltd in Cape Town, South Africa, was missing.
Energy Delta Institute likes to share and enhance the energy of knowledge, and therefore offers the International Gas Value Chain course to the price winners. EDI wishes both nominees good luck in their promising future.
