Top speakers from the energy sector…
Latest updates from the industry…
Debate with other Young professionals and experts…
Redefine your vision on the energy future…
These were just some key statements that could describe the challenging day in the FC Groningen Football Stadium. On Monday 1 November 2010 around 50 young professionals from the energy industry gathered to discuss the future energy supply. After the first edition in 2009 this was the second time that the Energy Parliament was organized.
Like in 2009 participants were asked to choose a hypothetical political party at the beginning of the day. During the day it was possible to change views and therefore also to switch parties. Some leading industry experts gave introductions which set the scene for fierce debating within and between parties in the afternoon. Topics such as climate change, the (possible) end of the fossil era, and development of alternative sources were discussed.
At the end of the day all four parties had the possibility to question the ‘energy’ cabinet (a team of industry professionals) about their proposed policies. Again this gave ground to fierce debating and sharp questions to the ministers team.
This day made clear that our energy future has not been decided yet and many different opinions exist among young professionals active in the energy sector.
