Last Tuesday 22 November 2011, Energy Delta Institute invited 120 International Young Energy Professionals to the Young Energy Delta Convention, an integrated part of the Energy Delta Convention, to debate their vision on ‘our energy, our future…’. It was an inspiring afternoon, with lots of interaction and discussion.

Twan Huys, journalist and producer of the College Tour, presented the college tour concept. In a Q&A session Twan Huys interviewed Gertjan Lankhorst, CEO of GasTerra. Other speakers and discussion partners were Farid Tabarki, trend watcher and founder of Studio Zeitgeist, Han Slootweg, innovation manager Enexis B.V., professor smart grids TU Eindhoven and Catrinus Jepma, Director of the EDI energy transition programme, who was also the chairman of the conference.

A meaningful platform to young energy professionals
EDI regularly organizes special events for ambitious young professionals. The energy industry is a booming and crucial sector in the world economy - a sector, also, that needs a constant influx of young professionals, because it is presently threatened by an aging working population. The energy world wants to attract the smartest and the brightest amongst young starters who have an ambition in this field. This is where EDI comes in. EDI offers a platform where energy professionals can train at a high practice-oriented level, obtain information and exchange views with peers from the industry.
