What's in it for you?

The Energy Business Management Course is one of three separate, though mutually linked Master programmes, that can also be joined on a stand-alone basis. The three Master Programmes can be concluded by a Summer Academy and a Thesis project. After completion, you will obtain the title of Executive Master of Gas Business Management.

Upon completion of this training course, the participants will be able to:

  • Understand the processes of energy market liberalisation and energy transition
  • Understand how developments in energy market liberalisation and energy transition may affect the energy industry in all its facets
  • Manage the changes, opportunities, and risks related to these processes, both strategically and operationally

Participant's profile

At whom is the Energy Business Management Course targeted?

You are a manager and professional operating in the gas industry or a related organisation and you are involved in making strategic decisions concerning the global gas market liberalisation.

You should:

  • Have relevant work experience in a management or staff position (dealing with issues related to the energy market)
  • Master the key concepts of economics and business administration.
  • Be capable of translating theoretical knowledge into pro-active behaviour.
  • Have a good command of the English language.


Catrinus Jepma is professor of energy and sustainability at the University of Groningen and professor of economics at the Open University, Heerlen. Mr Jepma has vast experience in energy policy and markets, environmental impact and policy issues, energy efficiency measures and energy technologies.

Francisco de la Flor is the Director of Regulation at Enagás. He has more than 25 years experience in the natural gas business for different companies, positions and responsibilities in the commercial, technical, procurement, international and planning areas. He is also GLE President, GIE Board Member, ENTSOG Management Board Member, UN ECE WPG Vice President and IGU PGC B SG Leader.

Prof. Dr. Bob de Wit is Professor of Strategic Leadership at Nyenrode Business Universiteit. Bob de Wit is the Director of Strategy Works/Strategy Academy. He is also a member of the Rotterdam Economic Board and a member of the International Advisory Board Rotterdam.
