Participant's profile

At whom is the International Gas Value Chain training course targeted?

This 4,5-day introduction programme is designed for participants who are relatively new to the gas business and would like to have a comprehensive overview of all elements in the gas value chain:

  • Graduates with newly acquired roles in energy companies (e.g. traders, business developers)
  • Young professionals
  • Experienced professionals moving into the gas industry
  • Technical and/or operational staff moving into commercial roles
  • Legal and finance professionals working in the gas industry


Andrej Pustisek studied Geophysics and Economy and holds a PhD in Geophysics from the University of Vienna, Austria and a PhD in Economy from the University of Münster.
Working for Wintershall AG, Germany and then WINGAS in the 1990s he had responsibilities in international natural gas purchasing, transportation, storage and optimization. After changing to E.ON Ruhrgas in 2002 he led as Senior Vice President International Natural Gas Sales and then, from 2008 to 2011 Portfolio Management. In this function he also headed the E.ON team during the January 2009 supply interruption (“Ukrainian crisis”). He currently consults international natural gas and energy companies, conducts international courses on natural gas for HOT Engineering, Leoben and  teaches energy economics at the University of Applied Science, Stuttgart and at the University of Karlsruhe.
