Simon Blakey is an expert on the European energy industry. From 2010 to 2014, Mr Blakey acted as Special Envoy for Eurogas, the association of European gas companies. Before joining Eurogas, Mr Blakey worked for almost twenty years for CERA (Cambridge Energy Research Associates), now IHS Energy. His main accomplishment was the establishment of CERA's European natural gas and power research practices. In this capacity, Mr Blakey covered a covered a broad range of strategic issues in his research and consulting assignments for companies throughout the entire European energy business.
Dr Thierry Bros
Dr. Thierry Bros is a senior research fellow of The Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, a member of the EU-Russia Gas Advisory Council and an advisor for the World Energy Council - Global Gas Centre. He is also a senior energy expert at Energy Delta Institute and a visiting professor at SciencesPo Paris.
In 2016, he founded thierrybros.com to provide independent research, independent advice, training & expertise on energy markets after 25 years in the energy field, from the policy side to trading floors. Thierry is highly regarded by the energy community, notably accredited as the best European gas analyst for five years in a row (2013-2017).
Thierry Bros holds a Master of chemical engineering from ESPCI ParisTech and a PhD from Ecole Centrale Paris.
Francisco de la Flor Garcia
Francisco de la Flor is the Director of Regulation at Enagás. He also holds positions in the GIE Board, and in the Management Board of ENTSOG and is President of GEG of United Nations, Economic Commission for Europe and the IGU PGC B SG Leader. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the natural gas business for different companies, positions and responsibilities in the commercial, technical, procurement, international and planning areas. University education in Chemical Engineering and in Economics Sciences and Business Management. He has completed a Business Administration Executive Program at the IESE Business School and followed doctorate studies in Economics.
Theo Fens is a seasoned experienced professional with a broad industrial background. His working experience encompasses more than 40 years in the industry (process control, telecom, oil and gas engineering), consultancy (energy markets and IT), and research (physics and economy). Mr Fens currently works as an independent consultant, offering broad advice and support in the energy realm, from technical/institutional design including realisation support, up to business case analysis and strategic evaluation. Since 2002 Mr Fens also fills a position as senior research fellow at Technical University of Delft, Faculty Technology, Policy and Management.
In 2017, Robert founded Recoy. Recoy’s mission is to accelerate the energy transition by helping customers increase their energy flexibility and reduce energy cost. Next to that, he is director of the “Schooldakrevolutie” foundation, which aims to put solar on at least half of all schools in The Netherlands by 2020, with energy cost savings re-invested in educational programs on sustainability. From 2011 until 2017, Robert was COO of the Netherlands Energy Research Center (ECN), where he was responsible for the R & D program for wind power, solar energy, bioenergy, energy efficiency and policy studies. Prior to this, he worked at Shell for 22 years, amongst others as VP Strategy and Planning at Shell Renewables & Hydrogen. Robert is a mechanical engineer and obtained an MBA from Henley Management College.
Dr Tatiana Mitrova
Dr Tatiana Mitrova is Head of the Oil and Gas Department in the Energy Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ERI RAS), and has twenty years’ experience in the development of Russian and global energy markets. Dr Mitrova is a member of the Governmental Commission of the Russian Federation on fuel and energy complex, the Russian Council on Foreign and Defense Policy and the Valdai Club. She is also member of the Board of Directors in E.ON-Russia JSC. Before joining ERI RAS, Dr Mitrova was the head of global energy at SKOLOKOVO Energy Centre responsible for analyses of global energy markets development and the Russian Federation’s energy export and import policy.
Andrej Pustisek teaches energy economics at the University of Applied Science, Stuttgart, Germany and at the University of Karlsruhe (KIT), Germany, owns a consulting companys providing services to international natural gas and energy companies, inter alia, in arbitration proceedings, and lectures international courses on natural gas. In 2017 his latest book ‘Natural gas: a commercial perspective’ has been published. He studied Geophysics and Economy in Vienna, Cologne and Munster. He holds a Ph.D. in Geophysics and a Ph.D. in Economy. In 1990, he started in international natural gas purchasing of Wintershall, Kassel, Germany. As of 1993 he headed different departments of WINGAS, Kassel, Germany (a Gazprom and BASF joint venture). From 2002 to 2012, he worked for E.ON Ruhrgas, Essen, Germany; first as Senior Vice President International Natural Gas Sales and from 2008 as Senior Vice President Portfolio Management.
Bert Stuij is Vice President Innovation at EDI and Manager National Programmes / Energy at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl). At EDI, Mr Stuij works on programme development and education with a specific focus on energy transition. At RVO Mr Stuij is responsible for policy execution in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency and energy innovation. Before these positions, Mr Stuij build up experience as consultant, manager and international networker. He worked in the private sector (Shell), semi-private institutions (Novem BV) and government agencies (SenterNovem, AgentschapNl and RVO.nl). On behalf of the Dutch Government Mr Stuij is a member of the Committee on Energy Research and Technology of the Intenational Energy Agency in Paris.
